Salary Range: $95,000 to $110,000/Year
Responsibilities & Duties
Strategic Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate and refine operational policies, systems, and strategies to guarantee the delivery of premium-quality products.
- Drive quality achievement and performance improvements across all levels of the organization.
- Identify and implement specialized quality-related training programs to enhance team competency and technical standards.
- Report directly to the Director of Research & Development (R&D), working in close alignment to support organizational growth and innovation.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety Standards
- Direct the coordination of the AIB (American Institute of Baking) Program, maintaining a consistent “AIB Superior” rating through rigorous auditing and compliance.
- Ensure 100% execution of corrective actions and ongoing adherence to strict customer specifications and industry requirements.
- Interpret data from routine analyses to validate that all materials meet rigorous standards before being approved for customer shipment.
Technical Oversight & Department Management
- Organize and lead Quality Laboratory operations and department personnel, fostering a culture of precision and accountability.
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) techniques to resolve product quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Oversee the precision calibration of all inspection instruments and maintain comprehensive certification records.
- Manage a secure, retrievable, and complete documentation system for all quality records and compliance data.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference for a concentration in Plastics Engineering, Packaging Science, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of dedicated Quality Assurance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in Plastic Packaging or Blown Film industries is highly preferred.
Regulatory & Certification Mastery
- Required experience managing AIB (American Institute of Baking) or SQF (Safe Quality Food) certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and uphold company-wide policies to maintain “Superior” audit ratings.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Thorough technical knowledge of physical property testing for flexible films, including: Dart Impact, Tear Strength, Tensile, and COF (Coefficient of Friction). As well as MVTR (Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate) and OTR (Oxygen Transmission Rate).
- Proven ability to utilize data-driven methods to resolve complex quality deviations and production challenges.
- Intermediate to advanced mathematical and computational skills for data analysis and reporting.
Communication & Leadership
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical quality data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
- A proven track record of working effectively within a manufacturing atmosphere to drive quality as a shared responsibility.
