Galloway Consolidated Holdings, the parent company of Bema Incorporated, Elite Extrusion Technology and Bema Digital Innovations; a recognized leading supplier to the flexible packaging industry; is looking for a 2nd Shift Converting Set-Up Operator.
We encourage innovation from our associates, employ the latest technology and have aggressive expansion plans. This position will support our facility in St. Charles, Illinois.
Salary Range: $24 – $27/Hourly
Responsibilities & Duties
Perform mechanical set-ups and changeovers on flexible packaging equipment, including auto-wicketers and pouch machines.
Maintain daily preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
Identify and promptly report machine breakdowns or issues to the maintenance team.
Enforce all safety and sanitation regulations.
Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other documentation to determine production requirements.
Coordinate and direct the activities of team members based on supervisor instructions.
Operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment, performing multiple machine set-ups per day.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
Solid knowledge of safety practices and procedures
Some electrical experience is a plus (not required)
Previous experience with auto-wicketers and pouch machines is a strong plus
Willing and able to work overtime as needed
Physically capable of standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and pulling for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Commitment to following all company policies and American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards
